Why should I bother with IPv6? Print

  • 0

As the number of remaining IPv4 addresses runs out, some ISPs and carriers are already being forced to provide Internet access via IPv6 only, or using workarounds to allow large numbers of users to access the Internet using the same IPv4 address.

Whilst the transition to IPv6 has been going on for a number of years now and will continue for several more, website owners need to ensure their sites and services are available via both IPv4 and IPv6 now. This is the only way to make sure that all users will be able to access these sites and services regardless of the ISP or carrier that the user connects to the Internet with.
